Molchany Wins Stonewall Endorsement
Steel-City Stonewall Democrats Voted Sunday to Support Molchany in Democratic Primary
Pittsburgh– The Steel-City Stonewall Democrats voted Sunday to endorse candidates for the April 24th Primary. Along with President Obama and Senator Casey and several other local candidates, Erin Molchany won the endorsement for the Democratic Primary in the 22nd State House District.
Molchany pledged hard work and integrity in front of a crowd gathered at the event. ”Governor Corbett and legislators in Harrisburg should focus on saving public transportation and funding education,” she said. “Instead of fighting for us, Harrisburg is attacking women’s rights and the rights of the LGBT community. I will not stand for this. I will be an advocate for our community.”
Jim Sheppard, President of the Steel-City Stonewall Democrats, announced the results and expressed pride in this year’s endorsement slate.
“The Steel City Stonewall Democrats prides itself in its membership driven endorsement process and Erin Molchany impressed our membership. In both her candidate questionnaire and her speech at the endorsement meeting, Erin spoke to the hearts and minds of our members and demonstrated her knowledge of the issues that most concern the LGBT community in Pittsburgh.”
