National Grassroots Organization Endorses in 22nd Legislative District

Pittsburgh– Democracy for America officially announced their endorsement of Erin Molchany for the April 24th Democratic Primary in the 22nd Legislative District. This is Molchany’s first national endorsement.

“This election is about choices,” Molchany said, “and the choice is clear. My campaign is about community and every organization that supports me believes it is time to bring honesty and integrity back to Harrisburg. It is time to fight for our community again.”

Molchany has received endorsements from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, local unions and elected officials. Her candidacy has also garnered support from all over Pennsylvania. The endorsement from Democracy for America emphasizes the attention Molchany has gained at a national level and stresses the importance of this race for voters in the 22nd district.

“When a candidate believes in the importance of investing in human capital, you know you’ve got the real deal,” said Jim Dean, Chair of Democracy for America. ”Erin Molchany supports her community and has what it takes to keep Pennsylvania moving in the right direction. Sierra Club Chapter and Local Allegheny Group Name Molchany Environmental Advocate

Pittsburgh– The Pennsylvania Chapter and the local Allegheny Group of the Sierra Club officially announced their endorsement of Erin Molchany in the April 24th Democratic Primary in the 22nd Legislative District.

“We believe that Erin Molchany will be a strong advocate for the environment, committed to protecting the public’s health by reducing the pollution of our air and water, and ensuring that the public is served by a financially sustainable transit system,” said Angel Gober, Chair of the Allegheny Groups Political Committee.

Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers Endorses Molchany in 22nd Legislative District

Pittsburgh– Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers publicly released today their endorsement of Erin Molchany in the April 24th Democratic Primary for the 22nd Legislative District.

“We are proud to endorse Erin Molchany,” said Nina Esposito-Visigitis, President of Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers. ”The choice is clear in this race. Erin will stand up to invest in our children and teachers again. Her opponent said he could not promise to fight against vouchers, a massive part of Governor Corbett assault on public education.”

Molchany is proud to have the support of teachers throughout her district and another endorsement from labor.

“We must stop Governor Corbett’s unnecessary cuts to education and invest in our children again,” Molchany said. ”Education is about the economy, about jobs. Molchany Endorsed by Democracy for Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh– Democracy for Pittsburgh has endorsed Erin Molchany in the April 24th Democratic Primary for the 22nd Legislative Distrct. Molchany was one of only two candidates to garner an endorsed from the organization. Molchany won with over 70% of membership support.

In a release announcing the endorsement, Molchany was described as having “a deep-seated commitment towards doing right by all citizens of PA, in a way that transcends ideology.”

Councilman Endorses Erin Molchany in 22nd Legislative District

Pittsburgh– City Councilman Bruce Kraus announced today his endorsement of Erin Molchany in the April 24th Democratic Primary for the 22nd Legislative district.

“Erin Molchany is incredibly committed to making her community and our entire region a better place to live,” said Kraus. ”She brings to office a record of accomplishment fighting to save public transportation and education. I’m proud to endorse her as the next Representative in the 22nd district.”

Ironworkers Local 3 Endorses Molchany in District 22

Pittsburgh– Ironworkers Local 3 officially made public today their endorsement of Erin Molchany in the April 24th Democratic Primary in the 22nd legislative district.

“Growing up in a union household, my dad taught me the values of hard work and honesty,” said Molchany. ”These are Labor’s values and the values I promise to bring to Harrisburg.

“I am proud to be supported by the Ironworkers Local 3.”

Molchany had the opportunity to tour the Apprentice training facility in the Strip District several weeks ago. She was impressed with the comprehensive material and excellence expected in the program. ”We need ironworker trained workers, like you, fixing our bridges,” Molchany told a classroom of students. “Nothing less than excellence should be expected to keep our infrastructure safe, and I’ve seen that excellence here.”

Molchany Wins Stonewall Endorsement

Steel-City Stonewall Democrats Voted Sunday to Support Molchany in Democratic Primary

Pittsburgh– The Steel-City Stonewall Democrats voted Sunday to endorse candidates for the April 24th Primary. Along with President Obama and Senator Casey and several other local candidates, Erin Molchany won the endorsement for the Democratic Primary in the 22nd State House District.

Molchany pledged hard work and integrity in front of a crowd gathered at the event. ”Governor Corbett and legislators in Harrisburg should focus on saving public transportation and funding education,” she said. “Instead of fighting for us, Harrisburg is attacking women’s rights and the rights of the LGBT community. I will not stand for this. I will be an advocate for our community.”
